
Professor Christoph Ann holds the chair for Corporate and IP Law at Munich Technical University's School of Management in Munich, Germany (www.jura.wi.tum.de). He also serves on the Managing Board of the Munich Intellectual Property Law Center (MIPLC – www.miplc.de), to which besides George Washington University, School of Law, the max-Planck Society and the University of Augsburg Munich Technical University is one of four partners.
Professor Ann holds law degrees from both, Germany and the US (LL.M. Duke Univ. ’88). Before coming to Munich Professor Ann practiced as an attorney in Munich and Erlangen and taught IP law as a full Professor of Law in Freiburg/Br. (2000-2003), Germany. From 2001-2003 he also served as a judge on the Mannheim District Court’s IP infringement panel with jurisdiction over the technologically important German state of Baden-Württemberg.
Professor Ann has taught and on a regular basis continues to teach at law schools abroad; mainly in the US (Duke University, Stetson University, Univ. of Oregon) but also in Australia (La Trobe University, Melbourne), in France (Institut des Hautes Etudes Européennes, Université Robert Schuman, both Strasbourg), and in Hungary (Andrássy University, Budapest).
Professor Ann’s interests focus on European and International IP and Technology Protection (Patents and Trade Secrets) including the respective Licensing and Competition Law. Professor Ann is listed as a Neutral with the WIPO Arbitration and Mediation Center.
