
Klaus D. Hahne is economist, certified German tax advisor (Steuerberater) and Counsel in the Tax department of ALLEN & OVERY LLP. Frankfurt am Main.
Before joining ALLEN & OVERY Klaus was Partner of ERNST & YOUNG, Financial Services Organisation Tax in Eschborn/Frankfurt and deputy head of Tax at HSH Nordbank AG for several years. He began his career in the Financial Services Tax department of other BIG-4 accounting firms in Duesseldorf.
Klaus D. Hahne has many years of practical experience in special issues regarding the taxation of banks and financial services companies and the accounting treatment and taxation of financial instruments. His activities focus on the following:
Klaus D. Hahne is author of numerous specialist papers on tax issues and gives regular lectures on different tax topics. He is head of the management learning courses “Taxation of banks” and “Tax-optimised corporate financing” (EUROFORUM-Verlag) as well as “Management knowledge on corporate taxation” (Management Circle Verlag), member of the programme advisory council of the Akademie für Fortbildung Heidelberg GmbH and expert advisory council member for “Banken-Times” of Finanz Colloquium Heidelberg. He is also editor and co-author of the book “Die Umsatzsteuer in Kreditinstituten” (VAT for banks).
