
From 1983 to 1990, Mr. Füßer studied Politics, Philosophy and Law at the “Freie Universität” in Berlin. Alongside he worked from 1985 until 1990 as a scientific assistant for the department of legal philosophy and sociology of law.
He graduated 1990 and spent one year as a visiting research scholar at Edinburgh Law School (Scotland) and Ann Arbor and Cornell Law School (USA). He attended his legal traineeship from 1993 to 1995 in Berlin.
Klaus Füßer is admitted to practice as an attorney at law since 1995. He started practising law at the law firm “Oppenhoff & Rädler” (today: Linklaters) in Berlin and founded the law firm “Füßer und Kollegen” in 1997 in Leipzig. The law firm is specialised on the field of public law and administrative litigation and is situated at close quarters to the Federal Administrative Court and the University of Leipzig.
Since 1999 he is specialised in the field of public law due to a professional training with focus on administrative law and litigation. He has a broad practise particularly with regard to the Law of construction and Planning Law, Environmental law, Nature protection and Landscape conservation law and Public liability. His experience focuses on Legal Problems of so called “Social Property” like Hospitals, Nursing Homes and Homes for assisted living, including the advice on the applicable industrial and social security law as well as on the rules of public funding. He has been involved as legal consultant in many large scale projects and has advised on matters of environmental and nature protection law.
Mr Füßer frequently publishes on various public law topics in the legal press and lectures at regular intervals on general and special public law issues as well as on questions of legal practise (e.g. legal training). He is also an accredited auditor for the University of Leipzig concerning the first and second legal state examination in Saxony.
The law office “Füßer und Kollegen” is listed and recommended since 2005 in the nationwide Legal Guide “Juve-Handbuch – Public commercial law” and in the compendium of “Law firms in Germany”.
Mr Füßer is a father of two daughters and enjoys skiing, hiking and badminton in his spare time.
