The programe

On Day 1, the Seminar will set out the range of CFT challenges. A leading international terrorism expert will introduce the topic. The Head of the FIU of Israel will present terrorist financing typologies. We will hear presentations from financial, Law enforcement, FIU and Prosecution experts. At the end of the day, and to stimulate the discussions in the evening, we will hear Marco Gercke speaking about Cyberterrorism.

On Day 2, after hearing a presentation on the abuse of offshore structures for terrorist financing, we will break out in small groups to discuss in workshops how to address the FT challenges. Each participant can attend 2 workshops that will take about 3 hours each. The day will be closed by a presentation that describes how terrorists could make a fortune by using modern financial instruments. In the evening, a surprise event is planned ... be prepared to learn more about Swiss traditions!

On the last day, after being briefed on the results of the workshops, we will try to find answers how to continue with the fight against terrorist financing. To guarantee a sustainable follow up of the seminar, we plan to issue a declaration where the importance of combating terrorist financing are underlined and where the results of the seminar will be incorporated.

The idea

The seminar programme is a mixture of experts' presentations and interactive workshops. We would like you to be a part of the conference, and not "only" an attendee. The gorgeous atmosphere in midst of the Swiss Alps in a classy end of 19th century Grand Hotel should create a special spirit that makes this seminar unique. The seminar will provide for many opportunities for an interactive exchange of views and sharing of experience with colleagues from all over the world.
