Dimensions of Innovation: Knowledge-based Resource Mediation for Innovation Process Engineering

Innovation is a knowledge-intensive process whose success heavily relies on the composition of adequate innovation teams. This paper presents a semi-automatic approach for team building as a special case of knowledge-based mediation of innovation resources. The proposed solution relies on multidisciplinary findings from knowledge technology research as well from organizational and social psychology. It is based on an extensible actor model for potential team members and systematically exploits taxonomies in the matchmaking process.
