Over the last year, merger and acquisition activities in Europe by Chinese companies have increased tremendously. The recent purchase of a German airport by Beijing-based Link Global Logistics Co. Ltd. is proof that Germany is indeed the favorite investment destination in Europe for Chinese enterprises. Germany's technology, brands, established markets and quality of management make it appealing to Chinese investors.

In addition, Chinese companies are showing increased interest in accessing the German and European capital markets, considering not only secondary listings but also direct listings on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange, the largest exchange in Europe. More than 30 Chinese companies are preparing to raise funds and list shares in Germany. Up to three Chinese firms, including Shandong Gongyou Group, a machinery manufacturer based in the Eastern Province, are expected to list in Frankfurt in the first half of 2008.

At this event, Squire Sanders lawyers from Germany will share their insights and experience to assist Chinese companies in the practical aspects of mergers and acquisitions in Germany and the practical solutions to obtain a listing on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange. The event will be held in English and conducted by lawyers with many years of working experience in China and Asia.
