Dr. Stefan Rolf Huebner studied Physics and Biophysics at Harvard University, USA, at the University of Oxford, England, and at the Technical University of Munich, and obtained his doctorate for work in the field of nanobiotechnology. Before specialising in intellectual property, he was a management consultant with McKinsey & Co., a research assistant at the Klinikum rechts der Isar in Munich, and from 1995 until 1996 he was a research fellow at the Harvard Medical School, USA.
Dr. Huebner received his training in intellectual property law at the University of Munich and at the Max Planck Institute for Intellectual Property. Before he set up his own practice he was employed in patent-attorney firms in Germany and Japan.
Main Areas of Activity
Dr. Huebner has more than 10 years of experience in the legal protection of industrial property, with a focus on patent grant, opposition, revocation and infringement proceedings and on the negotiation of licence agreements and development agreements. His main areas of technical expertise lie in medicine and biomedicine, physics, and material science. Moreover, he is a recognised expert in nanotechnology inventions.
Dr. Huebner's clients include several internationally prominent technology companies and renowned research institutions. Dr. Huebner has published numerous articles in leading law journals concerning current problems in patent law. He has been an adviser to the IP Advisory Group of the United Nations and to other national and international organisations.
