The art of configuration

The article describes the art and science of retail network configuration in the context of bank marketing. It assesses the current state of branch network management and the drivers behind the changes to this discipline. Further it explores the factors which need evaluation before taking configuration decisions: opening and closing branches and outlets, as well as selecting the type of outlets suitable for given banking products.  It lists the chcracteristics of location which should be analysed as well as typical errors made by the decision makers.
